Since 1 October 2026, every person who fits an EV charger must hold their own Level 3 EV qualification. Firms used to send a team working under one qualified supervisor. Not any more, and firms that cannot show it lose the right to certify the work.
Every Select Air engineer holds it individually. So the person on your driveway is the person who is qualified.
Who gets the grant, honestly.
Lots of sites suggest everyone gets money off. They don’t. The government grant is for people who can’t easily charge at home, so here is the straight answer.

No. We fix the price from your answers and a few photos, and we hold it. If something like an older fuse board would add cost, we tell you before you book, never on the day.
Most modern fuse boards are fine. We check yours from a photo before quoting, and if it needs an upgrade we tell you the exact cost up front.
Only if you rent, own a flat, or are a landlord. Homeowners with their own driveway are not eligible for the government EV chargepoint grant. We will tell you straight away whether you qualify and handle the paperwork if you do.
Yes, when it is fitted properly. Every engineer we send individually holds the Level 3 EV qualification required from 1 October 2026. Each install gets its own protected circuit, is tested, certified and registered.
Most home chargers are fitted in three to four hours, so you are usually charging the same day.
The network operator does need to be notified, but we do it for you. There is no admin on your side.
